Mr. Robert Alter is Vice President of FORT Properties and is a member of its Investment Committee. In this role, Mr. Alter is primarily involved with researching, identifying, sourcing and qualifying properties for acquisition, as well as actively participating in FORT Properties' marketing and sales efforts. A 25-year commercial real estate and accounting/finance veteran, he is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and property owners in key markets, managing the offer and negotiation process and monitoring market trends to provide recommendations to adjust acquisition goals and to educate potential FORT investors.
Prior to joining FORT Properties, Mr. Alter worked as Group Vice President Marketing for Hillwood Properties, based in Fort Worth, Texas. In this capacity he was responsible for marketing, developing and expanding the 17,000-acre mixed-use Alliance Texas program. During this time he also spearheaded the company's multi-market, multi-facility initiatives to high-profile clients including Bell Helicopter Textron, General Mills and LG Electronics. Mr. Alter also was an Officer and First Vice-President at ProLogis where he was responsible for global services/account management and build-to-suit development for key corporate customers.
In addition to his extensive work experience, Mr. Alter is also the Chairman of the National BTS Development Forum for National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and is an active contributor to various steering committees and publications. He is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
